What an incredible summer it has been! Cain Park has never been more vibrant, welcoming thousands from far and near to experience music, theater, artisans and more in the heart of the Heights!
The Friends of Cain Park is so grateful to all of our 2024 members, thanks to you, we:
- Funded performers for the Feinberg Art Gallery opening
- Funded stipends to all non-equity actors for each of the three musical theater performances
- Funded Cash Prizes for “Best Artists” at Arts Fest
- Sponsored the Evans Stage” at Arts Fest – funded bands performing at Arts Fest
- Sponsored “New Long Way” at the Alma Theatre – in honor of former President and long-time Friends member, David Budin
- Park Beautification – “Greened and Cleaned” Cain Park – planted over 200 perennials near the east gate of the Evans, purchased trees, and shrubs to be planted while maintaining them throughout the summer
- Purchased and distributed over 100 flashlights for patron safety
- Participated in “Freeze Fest” in February – celebrating and gathering to promote Cain Park as a “Year-Round” Park
And we have lots of exciting plans for the coming year. We have recently expanded our Board of Directors to plan and strategize how we can become more innovative and effective in our efforts to support Cain Park and our community. In August, we approved new By-Laws to perform at a higher level in our fundraising and development efforts.
We are also planning new marketing strategies (and SWAG) to promote the Friends of Cain Park. In our 30+ history, we have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Park.
Our vision is to work with Cain Park and the City of Cleveland Heights to help grow the creative and economic value of this performing arts treasure.
